Big Basin Way/Hwy 236 Bus Riders

Please read the following Caltrans Notification regarding Big Basin Way closures on Wednesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 26. Our transportation department will be able to pick up BCE bus riders on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, but will not be able to transport students home on these days. Please make other arrangements for how your child should get home from school on March 25 and March 26.
If anything changes, we will let you know, but at this point you should have an alternative plan for these two afternoons.

HWY. 236 DRILLING NEXT WEEK--POSSIBLE TWO DAY CLOSURE IN BOULDER CREEK
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – Due to a recent major roadway wash out, crews will be drilling for three days next week, beginning Tuesday, March 24 on a one-mile stretch of Hwy. 236 from two miles north of the junction with Hwy. 9 to Jameson Creek in Boulder Creek, Caltrans officials have announced.
The following is the schedule for work to drill three holes. The drilling is required to obtain geotechnical design information to build a retaining wall:
· Tuesday, Mar. 24: Drilling first hole with one-way traffic control
· Wednesday, Mar. 25: Drilling second hole with FULL HWY. CLOSURE in place from 9am to 6pm
· Thursday, Mar. 26: If drilling of second hole is NOT COMPLETE, then FULL HWY. CLOSURE in place from 9am to 6pm—otherwise, drilling of third hole with one-way traffic control
Electronic Message Signs will be posted in Boulder Creek, on Hwy. 236 and on Hwy. 9 to alert motorists of the current traffic condition and motorists are advised to use a detour on the day(s) of the full closure. Detour maps will be made available as needed by our flagger.
Updates will be available as the emergency project progresses. Caltrans reminds motorists that ‘we’re here to get you there’.
