Principal's Letter

Dear BCE Family Members,
I’d like to report that 92% of our students in grades 3-5 were proficient or above on the Math Benchmark assessments that were given last week. 1st and 2nd grades will be administering their tests in the next two weeks. Way to go BCE.
Halloween costumes may be worn to school on Friday, October 30. All costumes must be in good taste and safely constructed so that they do not interfere with regular class activities. Gruesome costumes and bloody, fake wounds are not appropriate for an elementary school. Weapons (including "fakes" made from cardboard, plastic, wood, etc.), skateboards and roller blades/skates are not allowed as part of costumes at school. A parade will be held on the upper playground at 9:30 a.m. Families are invited to participate or come and observe.
Congratulations to all of our 4th and 5th graders who ran for student council. All candidates gave thoughtful speeches. Our 1st semester Student Council officers include:
President: Marcus Khokhar
Vice-President: Jordan Beiden-Charles
Secretary: Kathy McKay
Treasurer: Craig Yeomans
4th and 5th grade Conflict Managers will be trained this week and will be out at primary lunch recess to help students resolve conflicts.

November 10 – Conferences - grades 1-5 dismissed at 12:15 p.m.
November 11 - Veteran’s Day - No School
November 12, 13, 16, 17 – Conferences - grades 1-5 dismissed at 12:15 p.m.
