Principal's Letter
I hope that this email finds you warm and dry and with power. I’d like to share some information with you. - We were able to evacuate our school on Tuesday in about 2 hours. Thank you to our telephone tree parents who made calls on both Tuesday and Wednesday morning. We will review staff feedback from the day and make adjustments as needed. - GATE testing for 4th graders is postponed until next week. All permission slips must be turned in by noon on Friday, October 16th.
- Unfortunately, the school was tagged at some point during the past two days. Some students were really upset to see the damage. Our school district painter was here immediately to cover it over. Please be prepared to talk with your child if he/she brings up the graffiti
- Our School Site Council meeting is postponed until Wednesday, October 28th at 3 PM in the library
- Our Parent Club meeting is postponed until Wednesday, October 21st at 6:30 PM in the MP room.
- We will be talking with our Lifetouch Picture representative to reschedule Picture Day. I’ll let you know when we confirm a date. Approximately 6 classes had their pictures taken on Tuesday before the power went out.
- Tonight (10/15) there is a town hall meeting at the Boulder Creek Library to meet the new Library director and to discuss ways to keep our public libraries open. Activities start at 6:30 PM and childcare is provided. Additionally, there will be a similar meeting at the Felton library on Wednesday, October 28th.
- Halloween costumes….We will have our Costume Parade on Friday, October 30th. I know that it is time to purchase costumes. At school, we do not allow blood/gore, weapons of any kind, or skimpy outfits. Younger students are scared easily. More information will be sent home next week.
- Tomorrow, Friday October 16th is the last day to buy raffle tickets to win a car.
