Principal's Letter
Rock and Rolllllllllllllll……….Next Saturday, May 30th is BCE’s 20th annual carnival. Tanya Brown and her marvelous crew have planned and worked many long hours to bring us a fantastic event. We have more silent auction prizes (SF and SJ Giants tickets, hotel stays, Gilroy Gardens, YMCA Day Camp, Disneyland, Tech Museum, Infineon Raceway, golf, jewelry by local artisans, etc.) than ever, as well as some exciting raffle prizes (who couldn’t use $250 in cash right about now). Please plan to bring family and friends to enjoy our community and support BCE.
This year’s silent auction will feature themed gift baskets from each classroom. We need your help in filling those baskets. Please contribute small items related to your child’s’ classroom theme by next Thursday. Contact your child or his/her teacher if you do not know the theme.
Don’t forget…We need your feedback. Please take about 5 minutes to complete our annual family survey. You may access the survey by going to the BCE website or going directly to the link http://tinyurl.com/bceparentsurvey. After completing the survey, please let us know so that you can be entered into our drawing for four movie passes. We will also have computers available at Open House if you do not have time until then. Thank you in advance for your support and feedback.
Collect your Box Tops for Education and bring them to school on Friday, May 29. Bring in 10 and receive an Otter Pop or sticker. Turn them in during the morning recess at the table by the old two story. Money that we earn is used to buy PE and recess equipment.
I look forward to seeing you at Open House next Thursday, May 28th from 6:30 pm -7:30 pm. Please stop by and visit the Art Masterpiece Student Art Show in the MP room. I am always pleasantly surprised by the talent of our students and the parent volunteers that introduce them to the works of the masters. Picnic on the lawn beforehand with yummy food from our BBQ, which runs from 5 pm - 6 pm. Cost is $5 per person, which includes your choice of a burger, hot dog, or garden burger as well as chips and drink. Support our Breakfast Club by eating at the BBQ. See you there.
